Finished Crochet Baby Shawl

Here is a photo of the baby shawl I recently finished for my beautiful grand niece Enya.

Sorry about the photo quality but I forgot to take a picture after I had washed it.  I delivered it to the little lady last weekend.  The pattern is from The Baby Crochet Book 411 Code B from Sirdar.

This is what I am currently working on, also for Enya.

Happy stitching.

Quilt workshop with Brigitte Heitland of Zen Chic

I went to a workshop recently at the Limerick Quilt Centre.  The visiting teacher was a wonderful German lady called Brigitte Heitland of Zen Chic.  We had a workshop on Saturday and another on Sunday.  Saturday's quilt is called Tape It and Sunday's is called Oho.  Brigitte designs fabric for Moda and these quilts are designed with specific fabric cuts in mind. Tape it uses Jelly Rolls and Oho uses a Layer cake.

I really enjoyed both days.

These are the photos of Brigitte' quilts.

You can see more of Brigitte's wonderful work here  http://m.bheitland.wix.com/zenchic

This is my version of Tape It. I love it.

Also included is a photo of my sister Margaret and I deep in concentration, and another photo of us with Brigitte.

I am tidying my sewing room at the moment so I can actually get in there to finish these quilts.

In the meantime happy sewing.

Finished Oz quilts

These are the finished quilts for my nieces in Australia.  The first one is for Maeve and the picture below it was taken today when she opened it up.  The smile on her face made me happy. I hope she likes it.

This next one is the one I made for Riley. There is also a picture below of when she opened it up.  Again her smile says it all. Hope she really likes it.

This is what makes it all worthwhile.

Happy crafting xx

Finished Aran Cardigan

I never posted a photo of my Aran cardigan when it was finished. It is a bit big for me but it is really warm. I think I might make another one - eventually.  The light in the photo isn't great but you get the idea anyway.
